More than 50 individuals have been arrested in a major international operation that dismantled an encrypted communication platform used for criminal activities. The platform, known as Ghost, facilitated large-scale drug trafficking, money laundering, extreme violence, and other serious organized crimes.

Europol, Eurojust, and global law enforcement agencies collaborated to carry out the investigation, resulting in 51 arrests: 38 in Australia, 11 in Ireland, one in Canada, and one in Italy, linked to the Italian Sacra Corona Unita mafia group.

Europol reported that the operation prevented multiple threats to life, dismantled a drug lab in Australia, and led to the seizure of weapons, drugs, and over €1 million (£842,270) in cash worldwide.
