Global Recovery Underway After Massive IT Outage
Businesses and services worldwide are gradually recovering from a massive IT outage that disrupted computer systems for hours on Thursday and Friday.
Among the worst-hit were businesses, banks, hospitals, and airlines, following a faulty software update issued by cybersecurity firm CrowdStrike that affected Microsoft Windows systems.
CrowdStrike’s CEO has apologized for the disruption, confirming that a fix has been implemented, but warned it could be “some time” before all systems are fully operational.
While some airline services are beginning to normalize after thousands of flights were canceled, operators anticipate that delays and cancellations may continue through the weekend.
