Beachgoers along Florida’s Gulf Coast have been urged to remain vigilant following two separate shark attacks that left three swimmers injured. One incident occurred on Friday in Walton County, where a woman had part of her arm amputated after being bitten.
Shortly after, just four miles away, two teenage girls were attacked while in waist-deep water. One girl sustained significant injuries to her upper leg and hand, while the other suffered minor injuries to her foot. Authorities have increased patrols along the shoreline, temporarily closing some beaches and reopening them with purple flags indicating the presence of dangerous marine life. The first attack, which left a woman in critical condition with injuries to her hip and arm, happened around 1:20 PM local time near WaterSound Beach. She was airlifted to the hospital for treatment.
