A knife attack at Zhenxiong People’s Hospital in Yunnan province, southwest China, occurred at 13:20 local time (05:20 GMT), resulting in at least two fatalities and numerous injuries. According to state media, 23 individuals have been reported injured, though the final count remains uncertain. Images from The Paper depict a man wielding dual knives, with another individual confronting him. Police presence, including vehicles and officers, was visible outside the hospital, with the carpark entrance cordoned off. While some reports suggest an arrest has been made, details are scarce. Despite firearm restrictions, China has witnessed a series of knife assaults in recent years, including incidents in Yunnan and Guangdong provinces.
