Anticipation Grows as Millions Hope for Clear Skies Ahead of Monday’s Total Solar Eclipse
As excitement mounts for Monday’s total solar eclipse, millions are keeping their fingers crossed for clear skies. However, forecasters are cautioning about cloudy conditions expected in northern Mexico, Texas, and parts of the Great Lakes region.
There’s more promising news for sky watchers in western Mexico and parts of the US Midwest, where clearer spring skies are anticipated. New England and Canada also look set to enjoy favorable weather conditions.
This eclipse marks the first to traverse the continent since 2017, commencing its journey on Mexico’s west coast before heading northeast across densely populated areas and major cities in three countries. Some regions along the path of totality, where the moon fully covers the sun, will be plunged into darkness for nearly four-and-a-half minutes.
With approximately 31.6 million people residing along the path of totality, and millions more expected to travel for the spectacle, the event is poised to captivate a vast audience according to NASA.
