Tonight, central and northern areas will remain cloudy and unsettled with heavy and persistent rain in far northern Scotland. Clear skies are expected further south, although heavy showers will edge into southeast England.

Tomorrow, scattered heavy showers will become increasingly widespread in Wales and England, with the risk of thunder in the afternoon. Northern areas will experience variable cloud and showers, with breezy conditions.

Looking ahead to Saturday, western areas will see blustery showers and windy conditions, while the rest of the UK will stay dry with plenty of sunshine. Some showers may reach northeastern areas. Sunday will bring scattered showers in the south and west, with drier conditions in the north and east and variable cloud cover. Monday will start murky with isolated showers later in the day.
