In an era where social media blurs the lines between public figures and their followers, the funeral of TikTok sensation Brian Chira in Kenya took an unexpected turn. Despite being a young orphan, typical burials would be attended by close friends and family. However, Chira’s popularity, with over 400,000 followers, sparked a remarkable response.

Dubbed the “Chira Clan,” his fans rallied to contribute over $60,000 for his funeral expenses, surprising organizers. Yet, the turnout at his burial in the remote village of Gitei far surpassed expectations. What was initially planned for 500 attendees swelled to over 5,000, catching organizers off guard.

While praised for their support, some attendees exhibited unruly behavior, with reports of drunkenness and disruption. Religious leaders struggled to conduct the burial service amid the chaos, as attendees jostled for positions to livestream, record videos, and take selfies at Chira’s gravesite.

The overwhelming presence of youthful mourners, their actions captured in countless social media posts, left the community astonished and bewildered.
