George Galloway has launched the Workers Party manifesto in Manchester, presenting a “ten-point programme.” Galloway, who founded the party in 2019, warned of the “very real danger” of Reform’s Nigel Farage “running away” with this election, reiterating his view that Labour and the Conservatives are “two cheeks of the same backside.”
Key pledges in the manifesto include:
- Withdrawal from NATO
- “Decent, cheap and secure” housing
- Free access to childcare, education, vocational training, and healthcare
- A new package of workers’ rights
- Cheap or free transport
- Support and services for women, disabled people, the elderly, and families, along with access to culture and media and prioritisation of the environment
Galloway stated that the party opposes mass immigration, asserting that Great Britain “isn’t great anymore” after years of “subservience” to the European Union and the US. Regarding the war in Gaza, he described it as a “genocide” supported by both Labour and the Tories, calling it a “national disgrace.”
