Labour is set to unveil its manifesto for the July 4 general election, focusing on economic growth and stability, with Keir Starmer stressing there will be “no surprises” on taxes to counter Tory claims. Speaking on Sky News recently, the Labour leader highlighted wealth creation as the party’s top priority. Other proposals include establishing a state-owned energy firm, increasing police and teacher numbers, and renationalising most passenger rail services. Meanwhile, Plaid Cymru is also preparing to release its manifesto, advocating for a new funding arrangement for Wales. Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, currently at the G7 summit in Italy, will join allies in calling for increased aid to Ukraine.

Whilst things are looking a bit grim for Sunak, that doesn’t equate to everything in the RED ROSE garden for Starmer is that much better, it could be argued if a party seems to be winning , it could turn out to mean the other is just doing even badly than previously thought possible, of course its “caveat emptor” buyer beware in this election with Labour under Starmer twisting and turning like a SUV down a country lane with most of the old socialist Labour values now consigned to the waste basket of politics, his wealth creation begs the question who will benefit from his wealth creation proposals, that’s when we actually see what they are, this election seems to have been a hasty affair from the rain drenched start and not wanting to pour cold water on the outcome do any of us look forward to a future with either of these two in charge?
